What Is Included in the Price?

The price covers a lot of care that you would otherwise pay a vet for in the first months:

  • A vet examination a few days before going home
  • The spay or neuter surgery, already done
  • A microchip
  • FVRCP vaccinations (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia) for the kitten's age
  • Deworming
  • A vaccination record
  • A health certificate
  • A written contract with the health guarantee
  • A travel carrier

Reservation Deposit and Delivery

A $350 reservation deposit holds your kitten and is applied to its price; you pay it when you sign our kitten contract. Delivery is separate from the kitten's price:

  • Pickup in Jamul: nothing extra.
  • Delivery to your airport: $150.
  • Delivery to your home: $180.

Why Do Maine Coon Prices Vary So Much?

Search for Maine Coon kittens and you will see prices from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. A few things explain most of the difference:

  • Pet or breeding. Kittens sold with breeding rights or for showing usually cost far more than companion kittens. Ours are companions, spayed or neutered before going home.
  • What is already done. A kitten that arrives spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked has had care that can easily cost several hundred dollars at a vet. Compare like with like.
  • Where you live. Prices follow demand, and the cost of getting a kitten to you is part of the real total.
  • The breeder's costs. Feeding, vet care and raising a litter in the home for months is a real expense for any responsible cattery.

What Does a Maine Coon Cost to Keep?

A Maine Coon costs a little more to keep than an average cat, mostly because everything is bigger. Plan for good food (they eat more), plenty of litter and a large box, a heavy cat tree, combs, annual checkups and boosters, and pet insurance if you want it. The one-off costs land in the first month: our kitten supply list covers what to buy.
